With the ignition switch on, and the vehicle stationary or traveling below 5km/h, the gear lever will be locked by the shift lock solenoid after engaging this gear.

  1. Hill Descent Control: Use this gear when driving on an incline. The transmission will automatically shift between gears 1-3, but will not shift to 4th gear, improving engine braking on downhill slopes.

  2. Long Hill Gear: Select this gear for extended inclines. The control unit automatically shifts between 1st and 2nd gear based on speed and throttle position, preventing unnecessary high-gear engagement.

  3. Steep Grade Gear: Use this gear on very steep inclines or declines. Once engaged in 1st gear, the vehicle remains in 1st gear and will not shift to other forward gears, ensuring sufficient power for climbing.

  4. Parking Gear: Engage this gear only when the vehicle is completely stationary. Once engaged, the drive wheels are mechanically locked, preventing wheel rotation.

  5. Reverse Gear: Engage reverse gear only when the vehicle is stationary and the engine is idling. Press the gear lever button to shift the lever into or out of reverse.

  6. Drive Gear: This gear is generally selectable. In the D position, the transmission control unit automatically shifts between gears 1-4 based on vehicle speed and engine load.

  7. Neutral Gear: With the ignition switch on, and the vehicle stationary or traveling below 5 km/h, engaging this gear will lock the gear lever with a solenoid.
